BROWN’S CHICKEN LOOKS BACK FOR NEW TAKE ON TV SPOT
Chain Unveils New Ads, Web Site and Promotions

CHICAGO—December 1, 2010 – Just one month out of bankruptcy, Brown’s Chicken is taking to the airwaves with a celebrity inspired TV spot, a new Web site and a host of fresh promotions.

The 30 second commercial features a re-mastered version of a Brown’s classic ad spot from 1989 featuring a then unknown Steve Carell. In the ad, Brown’s touts its catering for both office and home and invites customers to “be the celebrity of your office” with catering deals starting at just $3.99 per person.

The spot first aired on November 30th and will continue for two weeks on Comcast channels, including TBS, CNN, Animal Planet, USA, MSNBC and more. The commercial was developed by Absolute Video Productions based in Addison, IL.

Complementing the clever new commercial is a contest inviting customers to submit their nominations for World’s Best Boss. Via online and in-store promotion, customers nominate their boss as World’s Best in 100 words or less. The winning submission receives an office party for 25 catered by Brown’s.

Customers can view the new commercial and enter to win the catered party for 25 through the new Brown’s Web site, www.brownschicken.com. Entries for the Best Boss contest are due by December 15. The new Brown’s site was developed by DreamCo Design out of West Dundee, IL.

The variety of new promotions and media outreach reflects the commitment and determination of PopGrip LLC, which bought the chain out of bankruptcy, to return the brand to its iconic status.

“The new commercial and promotions bring out the best in Brown’s. An eye towards the past with a previous and now famous pitchman and a look towards the future with fresh perspective on marketing the brand,” said Pop Grip’s Brian Bernard.

About Brown’s Chicken
For more than 60 years Brown’s Chicken has tempted the tastes buds of generations of Chicagoans. With over 25 company and franchise owned stores in the Chicagoland market, Brown’s Chicken boasts a style of chicken all its own.

Pop-Grip Grabs Hold of Brown’s Chicken Company Vows to Bring Brand Back Better Than Ever

CHICAGO—October 18, 2010 –Pop-Grip LLC successfully bid for Brown’s Chicken at auction Monday. The winning bid of $585,000, trumped offers by two other bidders vying for the franchise.

Pop-Grip LLC is a private investment group, which includes several Chicagoans, among them children of Brown’s 37-year former vice president and minority owner, Tom Kennefick.

Pop-Grip vows to bring the Brown’s brand back in a big way. “We relish the opportunity to revitalize the Brown’s Chicken brand,” said Brian Bernard of Pop-Grip. “As an iconic Chicago institution, Brown’s will be back and tasting even better than before.”

Pop-Grip will reveal plans for reenergizing the brand and franchise in the coming months.
